This is such an easy homemade treat your family is sure to love. You may want to double this if you have a large family or make the rolls smaller. Get creative and add your own favorite toppings.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup chicken shreds/chunks
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
- 1 ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small red onion chopped
- 1 garlic clove
- ½ bell pepper, red, yellow, or orange (they are sweeter)
- ½ lb bacon, cooked
- 1 tbl BBQ rub
- Salt & pepper
- Pizza dough
Directions:
Prepare the pizza dough and set aside to rise. Boil 3 chicken thighs slowly and shred/chop white pieces and place in a bowl. Sprinkle chicken with BBQ rub.
Heat a skillet over medium heat and sauté onion and bell pepper until translucent. Add garlic at the end and continue to sauté until slightly golden. Set aside.
After first rise for pizza dough, roll out into a rectangle. Top with BBQ sauce, chicken, chopped and cooked bacon, onion/pepper mixture, shredded cheese, salt & pepper.
Roll up rectangle like cinnamon rolls and slice into 6 large slices. Place in a greased 8×10 baking dish and let rise for a second time until doubled in size. Bake at 425 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
This was made with my home canned BBQ sauce and my homemade BBQ rub. I Love using homemade items from my pantry shelves. Happy Cooking!
